This is the story of a girl
So who is the mastermind behind this quaint little place? There are several aliases I associate with, but online I go by Raisy. It’s the moniker I’ve always used in the 10+ years I’ve been blogging and web designing, and although nobody in real life actually calls me that, I’m sure there are several people that are/have been aware of it.
I’ve been told I have a playful spirit. Oh the college years…
At the moment (2013) I am a 20-something born and raised in the Midwest (U.S.), with two parents and two younger brothers. I have a somewhat complicated personality and enjoy doing myriad things, from lounging lazily at a library, to dancing my ass off away
at some nightlife venue during zumba classes. While I’m generally a super friendly person on the surface, there are very few that I consider my real, honest-to-goodness friends. I don’t open up often and I’m always finding myself withdrawing from people if I feel I’m not being paid enough attention. I am also a bit of a control freak at times; my self-diagnosed OCD and anal retentiveness can be quite suffocating.
I graduated from college in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in English, double minoring in Spanish and Global Studies. It’s a mouthful to say, I know, and at the moment I’m currently employed full-time as a real working professional in my field—that is to say, I am a writer!
The one thing any one should ever know about me is that I love to travel. Forget spelling, the geography bee was my favorite time of the year in elementary school. I consider Chicago to be my hometown city; Costa Rica my adopted country; and the Philippines the motherland.
In addition, my usual routines include watching endless rounds of The Big Bang Theory, reading quite a lot of books, and nursing my addictions to Vanilla Swiss Almond Haagen-Dazs and Chipotle chicken burritos. I also love love sports, even if I’m not so fantastic at them. You will find that many a time my mood will vary on how well the Chicago Bulls are playing (or not playing).
And that is me. In a nutshell.
Can’t get enough?
bumplum is my personal online journal, where I write tediously about my trials and tribulations through this thing we call life. If you’re expecting thoughtful philosophical endeavors or something of the sort, you may be satisfied but I can’t guarantee it. Most of the time I expect to be writing about the things I know best: movies, books, music, sports, and—of course—my personal life.
