About

This is the story of a girl

So who is the mastermind behind this quaint little place? There are numerous aliases I associate with, but for all intents and purposes you can just call me Raisy.

I’m a 20-something who was born and raised in the Chicago area with two parents and two younger brothers. I have a somewhat bipolar personality and enjoy doing a myriad of things, from lounging lazily at a library, to dancing my ass off away at some nightlife venue. While I’m generally a super friendly person on the surface, there are very few that I consider my real, honest-to-goodness friends. I don’t open up often and I’m always finding myself withdrawing from people if I feel I’m not being paid enough attention. I am also a bit of a control freak at times; my self-diagnosed OCD can be quite suffocating.

I graduated from university in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a double minor in Spanish and Global Studies. It’s a mouthful to say, I know, and at the moment I’m debating over desirable career options that don’t involve being poor, living in a cardboard box and doing something I don’t feel passionate about; I just don’t know quite what that career is yet. I do love traveling the most; my greatest ambition is to travel all around the world and explore different cultures. I consider Chicago to be my hometown city; Costa Rica my adopted country; and the Philippines the motherland.

In addition, my usual routines include playing endless Super Smash and Mario Kart Wii with the bros, reading British chick lit and nursing my addictions to Vanilla Swiss Almond Haagen-Dazs and Chipotle burritos. In addition to books and video games, I love love sports, even if I’m not so fantastic at them.

And that is me, in a nutshell.

The Blog

bumplum is my personal online journal, where I write tediously about my trials and tribulations through this thing we call life. If you’re expecting thoughtful philosophical endeavors or something of the sort, you may be satisfied but I can’t guarantee it. Most of the time I expect to be writing about the things that I know about the best: movies, books, music, sports, and, of course, my personal life.
